Flash fiction: Consequences

Flash fiction: stories written in exactly 100 words.

The match has over and they were out of the Cup. Tony Taylor had been sent off. Two yellow cards, one for a petulant foul followed immediately by another for bad mouthing the referee. The fans would go wild, but they couldn’t be as angry as the manager. There would be a scandal if it got out, but the Boss didn’t care. So his belt came off. It was for the team’s benefit. Millionaire soccer players needed to be taken down a peg. His buttocks throbbed and as Taylor stood facing the wall, he began to learn actions had consequences.

He called himself Major Bradley-Hanford but he was in fact plain Mr Jack Blake. He stayed at the Bijou ‘residential hotel’, which was really a rooming house. Most days rain or shine he strolled the promenade. He liked summer months because young men paraded shirtless wearing very short shorts. The day he forgot to take his medicine he saw four rough lads. He wasn’t fantasising this time, he really did tug one boy’s shorts down, bend him across a wall and spank his bare bottom. When he is eventually released from hospital, he faces a date at the police court.
